The performance of the "Security for stands/ fire safety guard" service" takes place exclusively in the time frame specified by the client in the order. On completion of the security time frame, the assigned guard personnel will leave the stand area, even in the absence of any representative of the client in the stand area at that time.
Security services may only be provided by security companies licensed by Deutsche Messe.
Employees of your own, in-house security service can request an ID from Deutsche Messe authorizing them to be present on the exhibition grounds outside opening hours. The relevant security guards must be identified by name and must offer the necessary guarantee of personal reliability.

Theft, damage and industrial espionage pose potential risks at exhibition venues everywhere.
Deutsche Messe provides for overall security on the exhibition grounds to detect and ward off potential risks and hazards, but we cannot provide adequate protection for individual stand areas, however. Should you wish to ensure added security – especially in the set-up and dismantling phases – we strongly advise you to additionally book the services of a security provider commissioned by us to guard your stand. Their reliable personnel are extremely well acquainted with the exhibition grounds, and provide effective protection against potential theft or industrial espionage.
2. Ordering
2.1
The "Security for stands/ fire safety guard" service must be ordered in the shop of the event. The exhibitor's contractual partner is exclusively Deutsche Messe AG, which assigns a security company commissioned by it to provide the ordered service.
In placing an order, the client accepts these purchase order, pricing and cancellation terms in all respects. Terms conflicting with or deviating herefrom will not be accepted.
2.2
When placing the order, the client shall specify the desired scope of the "Security for stands/ fire safety guard" service in the form of the number of security personnel required, date(s) and time frame.
3. Performance of the "Security for stands/ fire safety guard" service
3.1
The performance of the "Security for stands/ fire safety guard" service" takes place exclusively in the time frame specified by the client in the order. On completion of the security time frame, the assigned guard personnel will leave the stand area, even in the absence of any representative of the client in the stand area at that time.
3.2
For clarification, the assigned security personnel are not subject to any instructions whatsoever from the client. The subject of the order is the "Security for stands/ fire safety guard" service, but not the provision of security personnel.
Note for stands in the outdoor area
If a stand security/fire safety guard service is booked for a stand in the outdoor area, it is advisable to set up weather protection for the guard personnel in that stand area. The security companies commissioned by Deutsche Messe will contact the client directly after a binding order of the service to coordinate the options.
4. Complaints
Complaints of any kind regarding the performance of the security service or other irregularities must be notified immediately in writing to the security service management as well as to your contact person at Deutsche Messe so that the problems can be rectified. Untimely notification will result in a forfeiture of any legal claims arising from such complaints. Repeated and gross infringements in the performance of the security service shall make for entitlement to the nullification without notice of the security contract, in the event of the security contractor failing to provide redress within an appropriate period after receiving written notification.
5. Liability
5.1 Limitation of contractor’s liability
(1) The contractor's liability for property damage, financial loss or the loss of articles for which the contractor, his legal representatives or vicarious agents are culpable, is restricted to the maximum limits of liability listed in Section (3) below, unless said damages were caused by intent or gross negligence on the part of the contractor, his legal representatives or his vicarious agents.
(2) Should a violation of substantial contractual obligations (in particular, those obligations that are essential for orderly fulfillment of the contract and on whose observance the client depends, and is entitled to depend) result in property damage, financial loss or the loss of articles owing to slight negligence on the part of the contractor, his legal representatives or his vicarious agents, then the contractor's liability is likewise restricted to the maximum liability limits in Section (3) that the contractor deems sufficient to cover the conventional and foreseeable damages associated with comparable enterprises of the relevant type.
In this case, the contractor will increase the maximum limits of liability listed in Section (3) by a margin corresponding solely to the demonstrable, market-justified expenditure for additional insurance premiums and insurance tax for additional coverage over and above the amounts listed in Section (3).
In all other cases of slight negligence in connection with property damage, financial loss or damages associated with the loss of articles, liability is restricted to the maximum limits of liability listed in Section (3).(3) The amount of liability is limited to
(a) for property damage: EUR 5,200,000.00
(b) for the loss of guarded property: EUR 260,000.00
(c) for financial damage: EUR 1,300,000.00
(d) for the loss of keys: EUR 110,000.00
(e) for damage arising from data protection: EUR 1,300,000.00
5.2 Assertion of liability claims
The client is obliged to assert liability claims against Deutsche Messe AG or the commissioned security company within a period of four weeks after termination of the commissioned service. The customer is furthermore obliged to immediately give the contractor or representatives thereof the opportunity to carry out all the necessary assessments of the cause of damage, details of the damage and extent of the damage. Any damage-associated expenses which arise as a result of the client neglecting to fulfill his obligations within a reasonable time frame or at all, will be borne by him.
The liability claim expires if the client, following rejection of his claim by the security company or by the company commissioned by Deutsche Messe or the company's insurance company, fails to file suit in a court of law within 3 months of the date of rejection.
6. Written form, limitation period, place of jurisdiction
The law of the Federal Republic of Germany shall apply exclusively. Place of performance and jurisdiction shall be Hannover. However, Deutsche Messe AG reserves the right to assert its claims at the court responsible for the client's domicile.
Pricing terms for category Security for stands/ Fire safety officer
Unless otherwise stated, prices are net prices plus statutory VAT.
Only the prices shown on the order form or order screen on the day of the order apply. These are also listed in the confirmation of receipt of the order, which the exhibitor automatically receives immediately after placing his order.
The billing of the service is based on the amount of hours ordered; if the scope of order is extended after ordering the service in the shop, e.g. by short-term on-site order, the actual total amount to be invoiced increases accordingly.
Calculation aid for estimating the total costs of the stand security service:
For 15-hour deployment (6:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.) at a basic price of EUR 32.90 per hour including all applicable surcharges: EUR 493.50 / night
If the order is placed later than 4 weeks before the start of the event or 48 hours before the start of the order, the billing rate is EUR 39.50 per hour.
Calculation aid for estimating the total costs of the fire safety guard service:
For 15-hour deployment (6:00 p.m. – 9:00 a.m.) at a basic price of EUR 39.90 per hour including all applicable surcharges: EUR 598.50 / night
If the order is placed later than 4 weeks before the start of the event or 48 hours before the start of the order, the billing rate is EUR 47.90 per hour.
Cancellation terms for category Security for stands/ Fire safety officer
If the ordered "Security for stands/ fire safety guard" service is cancelled up to and including 14 days before the service begins, no cancellation fees will be charged.
If cancelled after this date, the client will be charged a cancellation fee in the amount of 100% of the order value as he would have been charged on the day of cancellation without cancellation.
If the client proves that Deutsche Messe has suffered less damage, he shall pay a correspondingly smaller amount.
Cancellations can only be made through the event's shop.
